Development Squad

Have you you learned to row with your College Boat Club?

Have you fallen in love with our sport?  Then you must be ready to join our Development Squad!

We are very proud to say that most of our alumni learned to row with their college boat club.

They then took the next step and contacted our Chief Coach to be considered for a place on one of The Boat Race crews.

Our Development Squad exists to help potential triallists make the transition from college rowing to university rowing.

We open our Dec Squad to anyone who wants to join. Our coaching team, start by offering coached ergo sessions at Goldie Boathouse from November.

We also run a small Development Squad alongside our summer crews, and we are proud to have Beginner Eights racing at BUCS in May. Of course we want you all to row for your College crews too at Bumps and ensure you are supported to do this.

In the summer after term ends, there is a an intense period of training, usually culminating in a summer  regatta, such as Kingston. This is a good opportunity to demonstrate one’s potential  to the Coaching Team.
